Prepare Your Home for the Spring Market

While it’s still cold outside, prep the inside of your home for the market.
There are a variety of opportunities in the Central Pennsylvania real estate market for both buyers and sellers.

If you’re like me, you’re already dreaming of springtime. If you’re considering selling, it’s time to prepare for the spring market. We currently have a strong seller’s market; interest rates are still low, and inventory is still historically low. Now is a great time to sell your home.

While we’re still feeling winter’s chill, you can focus on the inside of your home by preparing it in the following ways:

1. Clean and declutter. This is one of the most common pieces of advice real estate agents give their clients. Focus on one room at a time, and think like a buyer as you clean and declutter. Pack away extra knick-knacks, personal items like photos, and anything else that may collect dust or distract a potential buyer.

It’s time to prepare for the spring market.

2. Clean windows, sills, blinds, and drapery. Everyone loves a bright and welcoming home, so focus on letting in as much natural light as possible. Light is money.

3. Add a fresh coat of paint. Never underestimate the power of fresh paint. Choose neutral colors and freshen up common areas that need attention, such as baseboards, stairwells, and bathrooms.

Once the weather warms up, you can boost your curb appeal by taking on small projects outside like weeding flower beds, replacing bulbs on exterior lighting, and sprucing up your porch. We love providing our friends, family, and neighbors with excellent advice and trustworthy resources.
